La Plage de Grande Anse

La Plage de Grande Anse (near Deshaies, Basee-Terre) – located off of Route N2 near Deshaies on the northwest part of Basse-Terre, this is one of the best beaches in Guadeloupe.  Because of that area’s natural beauty, various villas are located close by.  Fortunately for visitors, a number of restaurants are also found within walking distance of the beach.

Paintball Karukera

Open de Saint-François

Open de Saint-François (Golf International de Saint-François,Ave. de l’Europe, Saint François, Grande-Terre) – this golf tournament (which is reputed to be the largest in the Caribbean) is held there every June, attracting 120 European pro golfers.  It is organized by Canal + Events (a major sports TV channel in France).  See its website for more details:   www.opendesaintfrancois.com

Plage des Galbas

Plage des Galbas (Sainte-Anne, Grande-Terre) – this is a small beach by the town of Sainte-Anne that’s known for its local beachside nightspot “Bwa Galba

 

La Plage Datcha

La Plage Datcha (located off of Blvd. du Général de Gaulle/Route D119, Grande-Terre) – this is a popular beach, since it’s located just minutes from Pointe-a-Pitre.

La Cascade aux Écrevisses

La Cascade aux Écrevisses (Basse-Terre) — the name of this waterfall, which translates to “Waterfall of the Crayfish”, is a stunning waterfall located along the Route de la Traversée, toward the middle of Basse-Terre island.  Another eco-tourist destination, visitors here swim in the shallow waters.  However, because of its limited depth, people are advised not to dive.

Golf International de Saint-François

 

Golf International de Saint-François (Avenue de l’Europe, Saint François, Grande-Terre) — this is a stunning seaside 18-hole golf course (open since 1978, and designed by Trent Jones).  It’s located at the southeastern end of Grande-Terre island. Casino Le Gosier-les-Bains

Casino Le Gosier-les-Bains (43 Pointe de la Verdure, Le Gosier, Grande-Terre) – this is the major casino in Guadeloupe, offering games ranging from Black Jack to Roulette.

 

 

Fishing
